Windows 7 and Windows 8.1: End of Support

Windows 7 and Windows 8.1: End of Support

On January 10, 2023, Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 will reach end of support. If you haven't already begun your migration to Windows 11, now's the time to do to so.

What does end of support mean?
According to Microsoft, EOS means that critical security updates will no longer be available for these solutions. After January 10th, 2023, these suites and operating systems will not be safe. Furthermore, Microsoft 365 Cloud services will no longer receive updates or be supported on Windows 8.1 and Windows 7.

What happens with Windows 8.1?
After 10 January 2023, computers running Windows 8.1 will still function, but Microsoft will no longer provide the following:

  • Technical support of any issue

  • Software updates

  • Security updates or fixes

What happens with Windows 7?
Support for Windows 7 has been discontinued, Microsoft customer service no longer is able to provide technical assistance, and your PC no longer receives security updates.

What should I do?
Inova Solutions recommends you to update your operating system to Windows 11 as well as migrate to Microsoft 365 to keep the benefits of working on the Cloud and security. If you are unsure how to do this, contact your Inova Solutions account manager, of send an email to [email protected].
